Everyday facial skin care routine on a budget.
As a 14 year old girl I don't have enough money to spend on expensive skin care. In fact, normally I don't really bother with skin care... To all those people gasping in shock right now, stop it. Whenever I have money I want to spend it on clothes and make-up more than skin care as most teenage girls do. To be honest I never really got why looking after your skin with moisturisers and cleansers etc, was a must. Although, I am coming more into it as I get more comfortable with the way I look and because of that, I want it to look nice. Obviously, unless you have model like skin, you're going to get spots but I've noticed that since I have used the products I am going to tell you about, I haven't had that many spots. So, without further ado (is that right?) lets get on with it.
Okay, so these are the products I use on an everyday basis. None of them a expensive and they are all in budget for near enough any teenager.
The little pink bottle in the back left is the 'Garnier Clean & Soft Complete cleansing milk'. The only reason I'm not giving this it's own picture is because I only use it when I have ran out of the other make-up remover on the back right. Also, it's not a good review so...
I got this from 'Morrison's' and I only picked it because it was the only make-up remover I could find and for some stupid reason and ignored that it was for dry skin. My skin is not dry! It's a bit oily on the sides of my nose, chin and forehead so it wasn't a match made in heaven. If you do have dry skin then it'll most likely work better.
You can definitely see why it's made for people with dry skin since it does add moisture. I can't say moisture, I'm trying to in my head but it's coming out in a London accent and I'm Northern so it's a bit weird. Anyway, after I used this it made my face so oily! Like a million times worse than before. I mean, I'll use it and it will take my make up off, but my skin feels really dirty after. I literally touch it and my fingers get all oiled up. I'm not having a massage! I don't want my face to feel like that!
On the plus side, the oiliness doesn't make your skin shiny.
If by any reason I have lured into buying this then click a link...
You can even get it in wipe form; Oh the joy!
Side note- You can get the wipes from 'Boots' aswell but there about £1.00 more expensive.
I've been using both of these for a while now; these bottles are the smaller 50ml bottles that I keep in my bedroom, the larger 200ml bottles I keep in my bathroom. I just think that together they work really, really well.
When you use the facial toner it sort of feels like you have botox (not that I know what it feels like), It's like you can't move you face but actually you can and that's what makes it different than botox. You put it on and when it dries, for a while after you're just like "Oh I'm never gonna get wrinkles." You put in on in upwards movements and because of that I have realised that movements do actually count. It has 1 vital vitamin and 3 skin loving nutrients. I don't know what they do but I know that they must do something .
What does replenishing mean?
I'm gonna have look....
Ohhhhh. Restoring something to it's natural state. Just me that thinks that's like saying 'Simple's' gonna give us baby skin again?
A rich moisturiser. That's what it is, that's what it does. Hallelujah.
So I actually have the rich and the light moisturiser and personally I think they do, do different things. I think the rich moisturiser give you a very clean, soft feel. I use it when I have just taken my make up off so I don't feel like there is any excess make up on my face. When you first take your make up off and your skin feels like it needs to be cleans. Maybe you've had your make up on for a long time so when you feel your face you notice a bit of a spot.
I put it on then just so it sort of soothes the skin before a spot breaks out. I think it works, the spots don't end up making an appearance which is good.
Also the extreme softness your face feels is really good and my face feels clean. Yay!
The light moisturiser does the same as the rich moisturiser but it's not heavy and I use it for everyday purposes.
Simple is obviously very known for what it uses to make the products. Everything if made with well, simple ingredients. The brand is all natural so unless you're allergic to vitamins then get these... actually get all simple products, they're amazing!
The bottles you get would also be bigger as the ones in the picture are just samples.
'Superdrug', once again is cheaper.
Once again, this is sample size. I have the bigger size bottles in my bathroom while this one is upstairs for some strange reason.
You use this and straight away you can see how 'Simple' is the UK's no.1 brand. Your skin feels refreshed, clean, soft and like it can breath, if you get me. It's just a very good face wash.
You wet your face and rub it into your hands (The face wash, not your face). It's sort of a gel but when rubbed in, it's like soap. Obviously not soap as seen on the label. Anyway, you rub it in on your face and neck and wash it straight away. I probably just told you the obvious.
What can you really say about a soap that's not a soap.
It doesn't have a scent, which is always good when on your face. Is it just me or does anyone else find scented face washed a bit off putting. I don't know why but the thought of a smell on your face is just weird. Your face shouldn't smell like perfume!
Once again on the topic of spots. I haven't really been getting spots since I started using this. Of course, my skin isn't perfect, I have had a few spots, but the spots have gone away relatively quickly and I've not have a break out... so far!

I was really surprised with how much I actually liked this product!
I bought it from
'Home Bargains' and it was only about £2.00. The price tag might put people off seen as though we get told that the pricier it is the more it will work. I found out that, that wasn't true in this case.
I use this on a bit of dry skin on my right hand and the middle of my cheeks. I also use it on old spot scar when I used to pick my spots... I've learnt now though!
I actually noticed a difference in just a few days! The dry skin on my hand is still there but has nearly gone (bear in mind I haven't been using this for long), the dry skin on my cheeks is next the nothing; Spot scars are fading very well, they're not nearly as prominent and have gone lighter in colour to fit my skin. Of course you can still see them, I don't know if they'll completely go but right now I am so happy with the amount the scars have changed in just a
few days.
The thing I really like about the bottle is that there is a small hole on the lid so it drops out rather than pours. This is good because you don't need a lot of the oil to put on your skin. A little goes a long way as they say.
As most things though, it does have a downside. Since it is a '
cocoa skin therapy oil' everywhere you put the product on is very oily. An obvious this to point out, I know, but this is the only thing that really annoyed me.
The oiliness stays on your face for ages! I'm talking 2-3 hours. This might not be a problem for some people but when you need to go somewhere and you have an oily face, it's awful. It's the type of oil that is very shiny and draws your eye to it as soon as you look at your face. I put it on with my fingers and then afterwards they feel like they've been dipped in grease. I wouldn't mind but you have to put this on
twice a day and that's like six hours of oil of your face, 8 hours of sleep, 2 hours of getting ready, 30 minutes of a shower and an hour eating. That's 17 and a half hours of your day; for me, the oil just isn't worth having 7 hours of the day left.
Otherwise, I thought it was really good.

Where was I when I bought this...?
...Tesco!
Yes, so I bought this from
'Tesco' and it was the first liquid make up remover I had ever used. Before this I always used wipes but cause I didn't like all the rubbing that was involved (and how it could damage my skin) I decided that I was see how a liquid would go.
The only reason I went for this remover was simply, it was the first one I saw. I don't research what I buy, if I like the look and sound of it then I'll get it, got it?
As you can see the bottle is very nearly empty. So obviously I've been using it and have been liking it, otherwise I wouldn't use it would I?
Look at the picture and you will notice it's a soothing 2 in 1 make-up remover for the face and eyes.
The blue liquid is the make-up removing oil which basically melts away your make-up, if you get me. The clear liquid is a cleanser.
You shake the bottle and the oil and cleanser mix together and makes a light blue liquid. Pour it over a cotton wool pad and wipe it over over you face.
There is no need to rub, scrub of wipe roughly. It does come off straight away. If your eye make-up is very heavy I suggest pressing the pad (soaked in the liquid) over your eyes. It
will not sting, hurt or damage your eyes in any way. The only thing you can feel is your finger pressing the pad onto your eyes. Hole the cotton wool over your eyes for about 20 to 30 second and wipe. If it's really heavy the eye make-up won't come off straight away and you will need you wipe the remaining make-up off. Still, the after the first wipe at your eyes most of it will come of.
Something I don't like about this product is when you shake the bottle and the two liquids meet, you don't have much time before they separate. So, you have to shake it every time you go back for more liquid. Sometimes I forget that I have to shake it and just oil comes onto the pad. It still takes my make-up off but it makes my skin feel very dirty (I won't say oily 'cause I've said it to many times).
Also, you have to soak every inch of the pad in the liquid otherwise you will need to use a lot more cotton pads as it will dry very quickly.
I hope you buy this 'cause it is a very good make-up remover.

I'm almost certain every one of you and your mums, great granddad has had a blackhead. Even just once...
I've never had blackheads all over my face and I still don't, but the blackheads I do have, I want them gone. I've only been using this for about 2 days, so I can't really give a full review. I don't know if it will work on my few blackheads, I don't know how it does, I just don't know.
What I do know though is that when I put it on, it cools my face which makes it feel clean and refreshed. I like feeling a coolness on my face and I think it's good that it doesn't last too long, so I don't get cold... if you can from a lotion.
I also really like the packaging. It's very simple but the bright orange (which I love!) catches your eye. The only thing is that I will the '
helps eliminate & prevent blackheads' was a bit bigger so we didn't have to squint to see it.
Finally, when I wiped this over the bridge of my nose, a few seconds later my eyes started tingling. I've used it... 4 times since I bought it and each time my eyes get a discomfort when I put it on my nose. I don't know if that's just me or if it's actually something that other people notice aswell.

It's the last one and it's
'Olay essentials conditioning milk'.
I know at the beginning how I wrote about my skin and how I think that was why it doesn't work, but most of my skin is normal, just bit's that are oily.
This is a cream that you massage into your face and then wipe of with a dry or wet cotton wool pad, or even water. It takes of excess dirt and make-up. It takes of full on make-up aswell, but I have been using it just to take the excess off and it has worked so well.
It's so gentle and moisturising and it makes my skin feel so soft and subtle... it's just a great product at a great price. Once again it made me feel awake and my skin feel brightened. Honestly I felt like I could wear this and go out with no make-up, which is what I did yesterday (something I
never do).
It is supposed to smooth and soften the skin as it cleanses which is does just that.
I haven't tried to take my make-up of with this yet so I don't know how well that works but I'm sure I will find out soon.
What I don't like about it is that when you putting it on your hand to put on your skin, it comes out rather fast so more than you needs ends up coming out.
